Why did you choose the name “Rapha House”?
The former owners chose Rapha House as Rapha is one of many names ascribed to God in the Old Testament of the Bible. Jehovah Rapha means “The God who heals.” Since the village of Arcy-sur-Cure is on the Cure River, the double entendre seemed appropriate. The meaning of Rapha also embodies concepts of restoration, rebuilding, renewing, well-being, to cure. We, as current owners, reflected on this name often as we completed extensive renovations in 2022-2024.
Our desire is to provide an environment where people can leave the fast pace of a busy lifestyle and find rest and renewal; a place where they can enjoy the slower pace of the rural Burgundy region.
